Here at Event Designer we spend alot of time researching blogs, reading books and scanning articles for ideas and inspiration. Here we share some of what we’ve found:

Have you ever wished that you had a crystal ball?  Just imagine if you knew just how popular a small square of yellow sticky paper would be….ahead of the really smart (and I expect wealthy) person who did? Trendwatching.com is the blog by one of the world’s leading trend firms and as their ‘about us’ page says, they are proudly opinionated.  Using their worldwide network of analysts and spotters (found in over 120 countries) trendwatching.com helps marketers, CEO’s, researchers, and people like you and me, whose businesses depend on knowing where the next trend is coming from so that we can design goods, services and experiences that will be in demand. What we love about Trendwatching.com is that you can use them as your research and development division.

As you will know design inspiration can come from all avenues. It can come from travelling on a train or walking through the city, to wandering around an art gallery or reading a book. One of the biggest areas we have found that gets our creative juices flowing is interior design. If you can find a good blog or magazine it will be your secret weapon for learning how to work with your event space. One of our favourite blogs for this is the Material Girls Blog. The blog has 5 contributors who are spread around the US from Chicago to Los Angeles. They have a passion for prints, materials and any kind of design materials. It is a great read and one of our favourite blogs for finding inspiration.
